Movember 2025: It’s More Than a Mo
Every November, you’ll start to notice a few extra moustaches popping up around the office, at your local café, and even on the rugby field. But Movember is about so much more than just growing a mo. It’s a global movement that’s changing the face of men’s health.
What started as a simple challenge to grow a moustache has become a powerful way to raise awareness and funds for some of the biggest health challenges men face today: mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.
And the stats show why it matters.
1 in 8 Kiwi men will develop prostate cancer in their lifetime.
Around 170 men in New Zealand are diagnosed with testicular cancer every year.
And heartbreakingly, nearly 75% of suicides are male.
Movember is about shining a light on these issues, encouraging open conversations, and funding life-changing research and support services.
How You Can Get Involved
You don’t need to grow a mo to make a difference (though it’s a great excuse to try out a new look). Here are a few ways to join in:
Grow a Mo: Grow a moustache for the month and use it as a conversation starter about men’s health.
Move for Movember: Walk, run, cycle, or swim 60 km over the month
Host a Mo-ment: Gather your mates for a quiz night, morning tea, or movie night to raise awareness and donations.
Donate or support a team: Every dollar raised goes towards projects helping men live healthier, happier, and longer lives.
So, whether you’re growing, moving, hosting, or donating, every effort helps make a real difference.
Let’s stand together this Movember and support the men in our lives. After all, it’s more than a mo — it’s about saving lives.
